Banner Owlbut Owl, and his friend Colin the Crow, are the figureheads of a unique, award-winning website for children, where curiosity leads to learning, imagination to creativity and the big outside world overpowers a tiny little screen. The site is run by Molly and Richard, the two human-looking people in the photo to your left. Between them they have over 50 years experience working in education and share a passionate belief that, at the moment, the current English system is not giving young people the best possible start in life.

Banner The Owlbut website is aimed at Early Years and Primary learners and, as such, has very few outside links. It is, for the young and very young, a safe place to land amid a criss-cross section of uncontrolled runways, some very dark, that can be found elsewhere on the internet. Click the logo on the left to go and have a look. Having said that about the age range, it is in no way defined and we know of quite a few adults who have enjoyed our site. We cater for the diversity that exists in all young people who are born different and certainly develop at individual speeds. This is how it should be but the UK formal education system, and most others, demand standardisation. We, however, cater for and celebrate the fact we are all different.

While itself being visible via that "tiny little screen" which can so improve our lives and yet is so often used to cause harm, every part of our material aims to inspire young people to venture outside that restrictive view and discover what the constantly changing, totally uncontrollable, outside world can offer. This is our screen to green philosophy.

This site, and the corresponding social media channels, gives us a chance to communicate directly with the adults who can guide those young people. Check things out from the menus and feel free to give us your thoughts too. Not only that but the work we do does require some funding so please check out those companies who have given us their support and on our Patreon page, for as little as £5 a month, you could help us too and find some extra material and fun stuff.
