We have always wanted to be able to thank and promote those companies who have helped us financially to be
ble to carry out this project. However, as our site is most definitely made for young children and we take
safety on the internet incredibly seriously, while we could simply thank those who help us, we could promote
them in any other way. This site allows us to do that. We can link from this page to a sponsors own site and
the weekly videos that we will produce here can also be sponsored.
Until now all costs incurred in running the Owlbut's World of Learning website have been covered
by us. Richard doesn't, and never will, take a salary for any of the work he does. He survives on his old age
pension. Furthermore he, or earlier supporters, have provided all the equipment that we need to carry out our
tasks. We don't use outside firms to do things, we edit the videos ourselves, we code the website ourselves.
However our new School of the Air venture has additional costs that Richard will be unable to meet.
There will be a lot of locational filming. Molly is nowhere near her pension age and needs a salary although we
have set it at no more than the current minimum wage. It would be impossible to carry out the School of the Air
and achieve our aims without her. She has superb specialist knowledge and is an invaluable extra pair of hands
when we are on locational filming. Neither of us, therefore, are seeking to make any money from this venture.
The government estimate that 175,000 children in England were electively home educated at some point
during the 2024/25 academic year. To provide our resource would need about 25p a year for each of those children.
Yes, read that again. We don't need much to help so many and to get young children out into nature and to breathe
in the awe and wonder they will undoubtedly find.
We hope that by the end of March this year we will found the sponsors we need. If we have this page
will look like this and display their logos and a link to any page of their own websites.
